About Marni Makes

Marni Makes is a small, handmade children’s clothing business located in Essex, UK.

Marni makes initially started as a hobby in 2022 donating items for premature babies at a childrens hospice. In 2023, after a decline in health, I started to sew more and make more products available to customers. Since this, Marni Makes has become Highly Recommended by Essex Mums Awards and more recently won Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday.

Most of the designs you see are exclusive to Marni Makes, however you may find some on here which are available through other fabric companies too and are non-exclusive. They originate from seamless illustrations which are then printed onto fabric and made into the items you see on here. 95% of the items on my website are handmade by myself in my sewing studio in Essex. 5% of items (mostly accessories) are outsourced outside of the UK.

All fabrics are OEKO-Tex certified, so no harsh chemicals used in the printing process. They are ethically produced from start to finish and include the relevant fire safety labels which are sewn into all clothing. More information can be found on ‘how to keep your child safe’ below.
